PGL 23.6.25

Today started with a wake up call - some were awake at 5.45 , others needed waking 3 times until 10 minutes before breakfast. We had a cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner where everyone ate something. Activities today included a morning of group paddle boarding on paddle boards that accommodated up to 9 at a time. The afternoon was time for aeroball and Jacob's Ladder - the children were incredibly resilient. The evening activity was 'Passport to the World' which required lots of running around, finding flags for set countries and answering questions relating to those countries.

PGL 22.6.25

We have arrived. It was a smooth journey with no major hurdles. We arrived by 4.30pm and were shown our rooms, taken on a tour and shown the free space area. We then had dinner - many options available and everyone ate something. Then the children played some PGL team games and then went to the 'Sandpit' to continue playing. They are now showering, getting changed and getting ready for bed.

We are eating breakfast at 7.50am tomorrow - wish us luck! ðŸ˜Š

20.6.25

 Year 6,

It has been a very hot week but that has not stopped you! You started the week with 2 mornings of history with Mr Chanter where you considered the causes of World War 2 and then you looked for links between those involved in the war. You also worked on The Apprentice- budgeting, planning, presenting your pitch, and deciding roles. Well done for all getting the investors on side! You have had a full read through of lines, and rehearsed songs from the production. You also had an amazing last Sports Day. Well done for how well you helped in the morning and behaved in the afternoon; it was lovely to have so many people comment on how amazing you were!

Next week most of us will be at PGL so please see a few key points below:

- Arrive at school between 11.30am and 11.45am.

- We will be leaving at 12 midday

- You MUST bring a packed lunch for eating when we have a comfort stop

- You DO need bedding - pillow, sleeping bag/duvet/sheet, sheet to cover the mattress (I apologise that this has changed)

- Pack for the weather please - sun cream must be packed for your child

- You ARE NOT allowed to bring a mobile phone or aerosol deodorant

Have a lovely Saturday and see you on Sunday.

13.6.25

 Year 6,

What a week! You have written narratives of your own design in English, completed market research for The Apprentice, and continued to read The Boy in the Tower. You have also had 2 trips. You spoke to, and asked questions of veterans in a workshop and then looked at the aircraft at Duxford Museum on Wednesday, and today you tested your teamwork and your nerve by playing games and then going on the adventure plus trail at Go Ape.

You should find an assortment of photographs below.

Home Learning:

As I said repeatedly this week, I know you have been worked hard in class and this is why I have not set you spelling or book-based home learning in the last couple of weeks. This week your only home learning is to learn your lines for the Year 6 production.

Have a lovely weekend.
