WK 5 - Set

Another busy and exciting week has passed in Year 6. It was a pleasure meeting and catching-up with all parents this week. It was a pleasure celebrating the achievements and goals of the brilliant children in our class and I am genuinely confident that they are ready to take on their next challenges in September and beyond.

Half Term Project – My Hero

For our final half-term project, I would like the children to think about their real-life superhero. This could be a relative, a friend, a neighbour or celebrity/ famous person who has genuinely inspired them. The children will be asked to create a brief fact-file about this person  (when and where they were born, achievements, interesting facts and reasons why they are their heroes). We are going to be encouraging the children to interview (if possible) their real-life heroes in class so prepare yourself for an interview!

*Please note that we have explained to the children that their heroes cannot be fictional characters.

Return Deadline for this project will be the final week of the term.

Production

As we continue to perfect our Year 6 production, please ask your children about their costumes, props or resources that they may need. Also, please encourage the children to rehearse their lines and perform them at home to help build their expression, volume and confidence. The performance to parents and adults will be on Monday 20th July 2026 at 18:00.

The Apprentice

The year 6 will be developing their entrepreneurial skills this half-term as they look to build a successful business. The children are familiar with the rules of the project but please ask them questions about how they are going to be profitable, efficient and professional throughout – perhaps by discussing their business plans with them and encouraging them to think BIG. Remember not to donate anything more than your support to their businesses otherwise you’ll be FIRED! Money will be distributed to the selected individuals within each group next week but if the children and adults are comfortable doing so, resources for their projects can be ordered beforehand.
